COHA Group worked closely together with the Usher Group during the Sporting Wheelies Clubhouse redevelopment project in 2023, where we provided pro bono project management services for the organisation alongside several other consultants and suppliers. Not wanting a painter who just applies “stuff” to walls, it was important we engage a professional painting contractor who understood the key elements of successful construction,

1. Use of Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and Hold Points

2. Strong engagement with paint manufacturers and product knowledge

It is important to understand that mistakes do happen and defects do occur on a project driven by program and therefore it is equally important to deal with a painting contractor with a proactive approach that will achieve a timely remediation of such.

Usher Group have repeatedly achieved as a minimum, a high standard, warrantable product that would stand the test of time.

At Marella, the team delivered exceptional results across painting, signage, and abseil cleaning, all to a high standard and with minimal fuss. They were reliable, easy to deal with, and maintained a strong presence through to completion.

They commenced on Lily while still completing works at Marella and have continued to deliver with the same level of professionalism and quality. I wanted to take a moment to commend Carl Donavan for his exceptional performance during the time Usher Group spent on site during the Defect Liability Period for Eve Residences.

His dedication and professionalism has been evident throughout his time spent on site, with Carl demonstrating an exceptional level of leadership management, diligently closing over 1150 defects. Which could be considered as overwhelming for someone relatively new to the industry.

As this was a very high number of defects at Eve, I was concerned with the load as 48% of our defects were relating to paint and finishes , but I was assured by Carl and Robbie that the defects would be closed out in a timely manner, which they have delivered.

Carl handled every aspect of the defect rectification process with meticulous attention to detail and a positive attitude, which has been reflected within owner feedback. His cooperative and kind nature is particularly noteworthy.
